Incredible well organised
Super event which is a good challenge and great friendly atmosphere
Very well organised run and great route
Well organised, well marshalled, safe and friendly.
Hot and hilly but worth it for the views and the atmosphere.
Darren and his team gave us a great event, from the clear directions and signage to the course marshalls encouraging us back markers and urging us on all the way. It was amazing and although tiring was definitely one I am please I have done! I may be tempted to do it again next year... let me recover!
Hard work but a great race
hot hilly hard but worth it!
I wonder if it is possible to have the start at an earlier due to the heat ? Otherwise a very good 10 mile run!
With a time limit of 2h 15 it was a bit daunting to us slower ones. I knew I would be close so felt under pressure from the start
There were 8 or 9 of us at the back taking turns to run with the sweepers. One of them seemed obsessed with keeping to a set pace to get us all in within the 2h. 15 and even told 2 of the runners to speed up or they’d be pulled this was only after we’d ran a mile or two. We all felt under pressure for the whole race which was a shame as it’s a lovely run. I was last runner in at 2.22 so only just over the cut off time. I’ve ran this race lots of times but not sure I want to feel I’m holding anyone up . I know 2 of the others said they won’t be back and they got in just under the cutoff.
Excellent & well organised with very supportive & enthusiastic marshalls & all the volunteers.
One minor point is the entry software. It was impossible to “interrogate” the list of runners, eg trying to find my club members or those entrants in my age category, without scrolling down the complete list of runners. Many races use drop down menus or spreadsheets making it so easy to access this information.
Must do 10 mile race
Scenic road race
Excellent organisation but on such a hot day needed an extra water station and better organisation at the stations - water put out on tables on the first one making it more difficult to get and not enough volunteers
Challenging race with excellent facilities within the school including showers and easy car parking.
As it was a hot day I feel another water station would have been safer. Also those manning the stations needed to be a little quicker at holding out the cups so they could be grabbed by those runners preferring not to stop. They could not quite keep up and the third water station was badly placed on a left hand bend at the bottom of a hill. So a lot for a runner to consider. Negotiating the bend, not crashing in to other runners while trying to scoop up a cup of water from the table if no one at that moment was holding it out to take.
Challenging, beautiful and so friendly. A must.
Well organised. So much help. Every eventuality was covered. One of the best road races in Hampshire.
Hills were difficult with the heat but enjoyable (when finished)
Lovely scenic passing picturesque villages and houses but very undulating route
Back 10 rows of runners could not hear what RD was saying at the start.
Penultimate water station handing out cups of water by holding the rim of the cup where runners would drink from.
Vast majority of car drivers very courteous to runners.
Lovely medal. Good HQ facilities.
Thank you all involved.
Quite a tough but enjoyable course with enjoyable scenery.
In the final run up to the finish gantry it isn’t ideal to have a series Road bumps.
Great sunny morning
Thank you to Alton Runners for all the volunteers and a very well organised event
Hot, hilly but beautiful
Let’s get this out there straight away, it’s a hilly run! However, I didn’t hate the hills. I found them somewhat character building. Feedback suggests this is often a warm run, so I appreciate the regular water stops (although I wore a hydration vest, so didn’t need them). Plenty of water at the finish, plus a cereal bar very kindly donated by Alton Place car home. Thank you very much to the Alton Lions and other volunteers who were placed regularly along the route. A very well organised run. I loved the medal at the finish too! I think I liked this event.
Shady lanes are nicer than the exposed
Thankful farmers were not ploughing or harvesting today, a few cars and vans on the route that were very close to us at points. Great Marshalls, atmosphere, just really hot!
Excellent race with great support
Thank you to everyone who helped on the day
