Meet James. The boss-man. The creator of ATW!
James has always been a keen runner and triathlete, even from a young age. Back in the day, he ran for his county in multiple running events and competed in many triathlons, in a variety of distances. In 2011 James took his passion in sports and founded ATW Events which has grown from a weekend hobby to an ever-expanding business. Although he’s the top guy in charge, James is always up for a laugh and a drink or two with the team. He’s so laid back, he finds it difficult to stand up sometimes (especially after an ATW Team night out!)
You'll find James at an ATW event almost every weekend of the year, and although he never stops working, he still finds time for his family, cooking meals and taking his two boys to park run!
This is Mike, he heads up our events and open-water swimming activities. Mike's been in the sporting industry back since the Age of the Dinosaurs, so is a monumental member of the team with his fountain of running & triathlon knowledge. As an experienced athlete, Mike competed for England/GB in orienteering, cross-country, track, road, and duathlon (albeit a few hundred thousand years ago). Mike spends much of his time designing routes for the ATW events - so next time you're at an event, making you're way up a spectacular hill on the course… blame him! At the events, you'll either find him supporting the team on the Bike Course, grabbing his 50th coffee of the day, or chatting to competitors.
Outside of ATW, Mike loves to take cycling-holidays with his family, exploring Italy, Spain and France.
Martin's one of ATW's epic Event Directors. He has a wealth of event management experience, passion for sport and lots of enthusiasm. Martin takes a lead on many of the ATW events and loves to get stuck in. During the week, he spends his time planning all elements of events to try and consistently offer the best.
Martin loves sport, particularly American football which he has played and coached at various levels. He completed a degree in Sports Business Management at the University of Lincoln and now loves to spend his spare time being run ragged by his young kids.
Lizzie is ATW’s fantastic Mallory Park Manager! She spends the week overseeing evening training sessions for those wanting to run, swim and cycle as well as arranging private track hires - all at the popular Mallory Park Racing Circuit. At events, Lizzie’s a spectacular team member; and can be seen helping out anywhere and everywhere.
When Lizzie’s not helping out organising tri’s, she competes for GB at the World & European Age Group Championships and she’s even raced at Kona in the World Iron Man Championship. Either that, or she's singing High School Musical at karaoke!
Jamie’s an awesome ATW Event Director, bringing liveliness and excitement to the ATW team. He loves engaging with competitors at events, whether he’s giving athletic advice or just having a chinwag, he likes to make people feel welcome. During the week, Jamie spends his time meticulously planning events, aiming to create the best experience for everyone.
Jamie lives and breathes sports; with a degree in Sports Science, he’s taught football, sailing, and more over the years. When he’s got free time, he’s out with his dog or training for Triathlons.
Meet Holly, ATW's newest Team member! She's just completed her degree in Sports Science and has blessed the events team with her keen and positive attitude, along with her fantastic athletic knowledge. With Holly's never ending talents, there's not much she can't do (except win an ATW Team Space Hopper Race, she will lose spectacularly!) At events, Holly can be found managing Event HQ's, supporting the run courses or even out on lead bike!
In her spare time Holly can be found either coaching netball or running trails, training for her ultra-marathons.
Ken is the other half (or better half) of the duo of Event Chip Timers ATW are proud to have! Before the race Ken's responsible for ensuring the race software is setup, race numbers and packs are ready as well as coding the timing chips. Ken's proficient organisation and eye for detail makes for an excellent member of the Timing Crew, enabling him to oversee not only ATW event timing, but other organisations timing as well.
Ken (also known as Kendra/Kennedy/Kenny) is what the ATW Team call a party animal. He loves music, so spends his spare time at gigs and festivals!
This is Frank, one half of the dynamic duo of Event Chip Timers! With a keen knowledge in tech, Frank spends the week tinkering with wires and drills, building timing boxes for the many ATW Events. When you see him at events, he's either tapping away at his laptop or lugging around the top-notch timing equipment. Franks expertise plays a huge role is his accuracy for chip timing.
When Frank's not timing events, he's nerding out at home, playing computer games and painting dungeons and dragons miniatures.
Kathleen's a brilliant and dedicated team member, with her exceptional talents making her the backbone of ATW's Communications and Marketing department. She adores her job, especially the creative aspects that allow her to bring innovative ideas to life. Kathleen's enjoyment for her work is clear to see through everything she does, her skill's profound. In the office, Kathleen's banter is awesome, whilst her love for Fluffy Cows is unwavering!
Kathleen is a spiritual person and enjoys reading in her spare time.
Ella is the terrific Communications Assistant at ATW and has been with the company for over a year now! Her role involves engaging with the community and supporting event communications, making her a familiar face at many of ATW's local events. Ella's enthusiasm and dedication make her an integral part of the team, whilst her compassion, kindness and perfect Spice Girls lyrics knowledge, provides ATW with a remarkable mother-hen.
Outside of the office, Ella loves to spend time with her family.
Meet Dani, ATW's wonderful external resources manager! With her kindness and beloved Post-It-Notes at hand, Dani communicates with and organises countless members of volunteers, vendors, and third-party companies throughout the week. You’ll find Dani at events too, commanding reg, handing out finish-line goodies and awarding medals with a winning smile!
In her spare time, Dani loves to run and practice yoga as well as baking yummy treats.
Meet Brandon, the man with many talents! When graphic designing, Brandon (a.k.a Brandy) brings creativity and flair to the ATW style. During event weekends, his artistry shines through his videography whilst he captures stunning aerial shots as ATW’s skilled drone pilot. If he’s not messing with drones, he’s timing events, using his awesome tech knowledge to achieve accuracy.
Otherwise, you can find him shredding up waves down in Cornwall with his longboard.
When Amy’s around her energy and eagerness are infectious! With some serious perfectionism, she manages marketing & design throughout the week and the Event HQ on weekends. Amy’s known for her authentic style whatever she does; whether she’s designing promotional assets such as banners and flyers or event day merch, like the epic event T’s and medals.
When she’s not playing with ATW, Amy’s enjoying the sunshine, got her nose in a book, or spending time with her family and pups.
