A middle-distance Triathlon you'll never forget!

Join us at the breathtaking Grafham Water for one of the UK's most iconic middle-distance triathlons.

For years, the ATW Grafman has been a bucket-list event for triathletes across the country, combining a stunning venue, an unforgettable course and the friendly atmosphere that ATW events are known for. It's an event that welcomes athletes back year after year, while inspiring newcomers to take on their very first middle-distance challenge.

Whether you're stepping up to the distance for the first time, chasing a personal best, racing as part of a relay team or simply looking for your next big adventure, you'll find yourself surrounded by a supportive community of athletes, marshals and spectators all cheering you towards the finish line.

Proudly voted National Event of the Year in 2014, the ATW Grafman has also hosted the Triathlon England Middle Distance Championships in 2015 and 2023, along with the British Middle Distance Championships in 2016—cementing its place as one of the UK's favourite middle-distance events.

Choose your challenge

However you want to experience Grafman, there's an option for you.

Take on the Middle Distance Triathlon, tackle the Middle Distance Aquabike if swimming and cycling are your strengths, or share the experience with friends in the Middle Distance Relay.

No matter which race you choose, you'll experience the same incredible atmosphere, spectacular venue and unforgettable finish line.

The bike course is strictly non-drafting, and the overall event cut-off time is 9 hours 30 minutes, giving athletes plenty of time to enjoy every part of the challenge.

An unforgettable course

Everything about Grafman has been designed to give athletes an experience they'll remember long after race day.

Your day begins with a 1.9km open water swim in the crystal-clear waters of Grafham Water, complete with the event's famous Aussie-style exit halfway through to the cheers of spectators.

From there, you'll head out onto a scenic 90km bike course, taking in quiet country lanes and rolling Cambridgeshire countryside before returning to transition.

The final challenge is a 21km run, where you'll soak up stunning lakeside scenery, pass the iconic Valve Tower and enjoy incredible support as you make your way towards the finish line.

Whether you're racing for a time or simply aiming to cross the finish line, every section of the course offers something to enjoy.

Event weekend

We know race morning is an important part of your day, so we've made everything as straightforward as possible.

Registration and transition open from 5:30am on race morning, with an evening-before registration option available for athletes staying locally. All bike racking takes place on race morning, helping to ensure your bike is ready to go just before you race.

Stay close to the action

Why not turn race day into a full weekend?

Camping is available through  Lakeview Paddock, just moments from the start line in Grafham Village, making for a relaxed race morning and giving you even more time to enjoy the event atmosphere.

Need a wetsuit? We've partnered with Zone3 to offer seasonal hire, along with flexible day, weekend and monthly hire options, making it even easier to get race ready.

Why athletes love Grafman

There's a reason so many athletes return to Grafman year after year.

From the moment you arrive, you'll experience a welcoming atmosphere that makes first-time middle-distance athletes feel just as at home as seasoned competitors. The spectacular swim venue, scenic bike course and beautiful lakeside run combine to create one of the UK's most memorable middle-distance races.

Friendly marshals will support you every step of the way, with well-stocked hydration and nutrition stations positioned around the course to keep you fuelled throughout your race. The routes are clearly marked, allowing you to focus on enjoying the challenge ahead.

Every finisher earns a bespoke Grafman medal, together with finish-line snacks and goodies to celebrate an incredible achievement.

Away from the racing, spectators can enjoy the on-site café, children's playground and beautiful surroundings, making Grafman a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Your next challenge starts here

Whether you're returning to chase another unforgettable day at Grafham Water or taking on your very first middle-distance event, you'll receive the same warm welcome, incredible support and unforgettable race experience that have made the ATW Grafman one of the UK's most loved middle-distance triathlons.

Come and discover why so many athletes make Grafman part of their season, year after year!
