Really well organised event over a lovely course
Surprisingly scenic route and tasty beer
Well organised and great route
A very well organised, friendly event, great fun even in the blistering heat!!
If possible, it would be good to divert cyclists away from runners, particularly on narrow paths. It became a little frustrating in areas having to stop and move aside. A great event, very well organised and executed, thanks to the incredibly friendly and encouraging marshals.
Great atmosphere. Well organised. Well marshalled

Great atmosphere and a beautiful course
Extend the route slightly to make it 10 km or a bit more, as myself and everyone I spoke to tracked just under 10 km. I know it's not a 10km time trial, but I'm sure many people would have appreciated it to register as a 10k on Strava or an equivalent app for any PBs they were aiming for.
Honestly though, the race was amazing and I loved it, was my first ever race win and all the marshalls and team were so friendly and supportive. Thanks and see you next year! Ive now got to try and keep the course record!

Great event with mixed terrain which was scenic and challenging
A marshall at Gasworks bridge would be useful next time some runners were confused and used the stairs rather then circular walkway.
A minor thing.
It was an amazing event and a great location and route.

Beautifully enjoyable
Loved this course! Brilliant views, amazing atmosphere and gorgeous beer at the end!

Wonderful scenery, fun friendly atmosphere and fantastic beer!
Bin could be a little further away from the water station to give you a chance to drink on the move. First world problem I know!

Nice friendly event but a couple of improvements
This is my third time running a Barnes Fitness event and it is always well organised with clear communication before the event by email. In this case, it was extremely hot and they made sure there were water locations in 3 places. Volunteers are also all lovely and encouraging and the venues are also great.
Main issue in the most recent event was the lack of a 1km and 9km marker. The 9km marker in particular was annoying as it put me off for the last km as I thought I was behind on time and had to slow down (struggling with the heat), thinking I must've still had >1km to go. My partner also found the lack of a 1km marker annoying as he paced himself too quickly in the first 2km.
I also thought you didn't get as much for your money in terms of post-run goodies. Previous events have maybe been a bit too generous, with a medal, glass, fresh pint, and a can. The medal was lovely, but only a half pint of fresh beer this time felt a little stingy - a full pint or one larger can would've been nicer! In fact, the can is quite handy in case people have to drive as it can be tricky getting to places on a Sunday morning due to a reduced train timetable.
All in all though, great events and will definitely sign up next time!

Well managed given the weather challenges
If going to be done again in July, would recommend trying for a 10am start but appreciate the regulatory challenges.
Having the extra water stations was a god send with the heat.
Having pop up food options and Tap Social after made it a really good atmosphere to stay around.

A hot, hard 10K in the aftermath of England’s quarter-final triumph
A brilliant event—huge credit to the organisers, venue, marshals, and runners. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially given the heat. The marshals, as always, were outstanding—supportive, encouraging, and clearly doing a great job in tough conditions.
The only small issue was that a bit more signage and a couple of extra marshals at key points on the course would have helped. I took a wrong turn on the first tow path ramp just after the Gasworks Bridge (I followed the runner ahead) and ended up missing about 200m, which meant that while I was pleased with 8th place, it feels slightly hollow as it wasn’t quite the full course. As a fellow runner, I’m sure Ellie will know that feeling and frustration. It was also a little unclear near the Hinksey Pool and one other area that I can't put my finger on, perhaps the Hinksey meadow on the return route, it was a right and not a straight on, the signage was a little ambiguous. Minor teething problems for a brand new event. Barnes Fitness races are always great fun, I look forward to my next one.
Ideal
This was my first race and I absolutely loved it. I felt very well looked after by all the staff and the route was stunning. My only comment for future runs was the 1.5 hour cut off, this is not the most accessible for beginner runners however, as this was the first event with quite a reasonable sized crowd I think it worked alright.
