This event will be part of the Regional Junior Race Series for 2023, assuming that the league is not cancelled by Triathlon England due to the threat of Covid-19.
Should Triathlon England cancel the league, we will strive to run this event independently unless Government Guidance and Health and Safety deem it unsafe on the grounds of Covid. In which case, the event would be cancelled. If the event is cancelled then entrants can choose to defer to 2024 or request a refund.
Please note that entry numbers to this event are limited due to the time constraints imposed by the swimming pool access. Entry will be on a first come first saved basis. Please note that the race categories will close once full. We suggst you do not leave your entry for the day of the event.

All competitors must be licensed to race, so non-BTF members will be required to pay a £1 levy for a day licence. This is included in the entry fee.
BTF members holding a valid licence must produce their licence on the day, at registration. The cost of the day license (£1) will be returned to them.
PRIZES
Medals for all finishers will be issued as the athletes cross the line. A further gift for all finishers will also be awarded.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies for each gender in each age group.
Prize giving will be after the conclusion of each race once places are confirmed. This should enable families of younger athletes to depart once their involvement is over
We recommend that you avoid the town centre and approach the event via the ring road and come off it on Wing Road A418. As you descend down the hill towards Linslade, go across the first mini roundabout. Just after going under the railway bridge, turn right down Cedars Way (at a mini roundabout). At the end turn right on Mentmore Road and Cedars School is on the left. All Parking will be round the back of Cedars School so please follow the signs and don’t park in the Leisure Centre Car Park.
In the event of requiring additional parking space at Cedars school, we will position a parking marshal at the entrance to Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre to sign-post the alternative parking. Please follow their instructions.
NEW FOR 2023
Go Triathlon
Leighton Buzzard Triathlon Club will host a new event in 2023 in addition to the Children’s Triathlon. This will be a GO Triathlon.
The event is designed for the potential adult triathlete who has not yet dared to enter a regular competition. It’s a sort of; Come-and-Try in the spirit of a parkrun.
The event will be an add on to the Children’s Triathlon over the same course. It is not a race, but a challenge for an athlete who has never done a multi-discipline event before but would like to have a go.
So perhaps you will be supporting your children around the main event and wondering if you too could do the same. Now you will have the opportunity.
The distances are deliberately low.
Swim 100m, Cycle 4000m, Run 1800m
All you need is a swim costume (Swim goggles also recommended), a t-shirt, a pair of training shoes and a bicycle and a bit of determination.
We still need details similar to the children’s entry such as your predicted swim time, so that we can set you off in order, so that the faster swimmers are not held up.
We are not giving prizes for this event and there will be no podium presentation because you will all be winners providing you make the finish line. You will get a medal though as a souvenir for your efforts.
Race Directors Briefing
This is a challenging course using facilities owned by Cedars School and Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre. The routes have no vehicle traffic. The route will be clearly marked using large route arrows, as well as being marshalled throughout. As there are multiple distances taking place on the day we will NOT be putting distance markers on the course. It’s a lapped route with the number of laps for the cycle and run loops dependent on age category. It is the responsibility of the athlete to count their laps.
The cycle and run routes are all on grass. The event is being held in the summer and hopefully the ground will be hard and mud free, but we cannot totally guarantee this.
Please note that due to the race being held under BTF rules, anyone seen not adhering to these rules will be disqualified. Headphones are NOT allowed.
Please adhere to social distancing measures at all times. During the race, please be mindful to give enough distance to your fellow runners and other users when overtaking. Please also be aware of your personal hygiene – strictly NO spitting or nasal clearing.
Marshals are in place and the route is well signed. Please listen and obey all instructions.
First Aid will be in attendance and will be located at the finish line and at a positions on the course for the duration of the race. Please note that Emergency contact numbers are on the back of your race number. Please complete your medical details and emergency contact details on the reverse of your race number.
Spectators are welcome to attend, please share the spectator code of conduct with them.
Whilst the current Covid restrictions are in place, we’d request you please observe our Participants Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone.
