A summer favourite returns!

Join us on Sunday 18th July 2027 for one of Hertfordshire's most popular summer running events.

Whether you're taking on your very first 10K, chasing a new personal best, or simply looking for a brilliant day out with friends and family, the ATW St Albans Summer 10K is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday.

Based at the beautiful Highfield Park, St Albans, this welcoming event has become a firm favourite on the running calendar, attracting hundreds of runners who return year after year alongside those joining us for the very first time. Whatever your pace or experience, you'll be part of an encouraging, friendly atmosphere from start to finish.

More than just a 10K

The fun starts long before the main race.

Our lively event village has something for everyone, making it a fantastic day out for runners and supporters alike. We kick-start the morning with our FREE Family Fun Run, giving runners of all ages the chance to get involved. Once the fun run has finished, children can enjoy the Kids' Zone, while friends and family relax with a coffee, breakfast or sweet treat from the Cow Juice Café.

After crossing the finish line, you can celebrate your achievement with a well-earned ice cream, take advantage of a post-race sports massage, and soak up the atmosphere with fellow runners and supporters.

Whether you're running, cheering from the side lines, or simply enjoying the summer vibes, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

The Course

Starting and finishing in Highfield Park, the single-lap route heads out along the scenic Alban Way, a flat, tree-lined former railway line, before looping through Sleapshyde and returning along the Alban Way back to the finish.

The route is predominantly traffic-free, with tarmac underfoot for most of the course before a memorable grass finish back in the event village.

It's an enjoyable route that's ideal for every kind of runner—from first-timers discovering the joy of race day to experienced runners looking to challenge themselves.

Why you'll love the St Albans Summer 10K

Runners return year after year because of the welcoming atmosphere, supportive community and fantastic event experience. The course is flat, scenic and predominantly traffic-free, making it an enjoyable route for runners of all abilities. Every participant receives a chip-timed result, with experienced pacers available to help those working towards a particular goal.

Our friendly marshals and volunteers are on hand throughout the course to keep you motivated and supported, while our professional photographers capture the day so you can download your event photos free of charge. Every finisher will receive a bespoke medal along with finish-line snacks and goodies to celebrate their achievement.

Combined with the buzzing event village, family-friendly entertainment and summer atmosphere, it's easy to see why so many runners make this event part of their annual calendar.
